Who wants to hear what I have been up to lately???? (My imagination just envisioned a group of people jumping up and down saying....oh, me, me, me!!)
I thought this blog post would be a good place to evaluate where I am with the goals I set for myself. It's good for me to go back through previous blog posts and see how many things I can check off my list. So...here we go.....
- On November 1, 2012, I wrote a blog post called "I will run 500 miles!". This is a long-term goal that I'm working on. On average I should be running at least 10 miles per week. According to the chart I've been keeping, I've ran 93.87 miles in the past 15 weeks. If you have done the math already, I should technically have 150 miles behind me. I've got a little catching up to do. I'm not upset though....I'm still running and I know that during my run tomorrow I will pass the 100 mile mark. I rock!....Check!
- For 2013, I made a goal to run at least one race each month. This goal is on track :) As you know, I ran the Freeze Your Fanny 5K run on January 26th and had a 5K PR....I was so happy! On February 9th, I ran a 4 mile race called the Sweetheart Run (Thanks for being there with me....Nancy, Chris W., and Dan). I again felt really good during this race and was able to keep an average pace of 10:53 per mile. I'm definitely getting faster!!...Check!
- My March race is going to be the Snake River Half Marathon on March 2nd. I'm still prepping for this race. I ran 8 miles last Sunday. It was hard and tiring, but I finished in 1:40. My legs were tired from the 4 mile race the day before, but I still did it. I'm running out of time to get my distance increased. Hopefully tomorrow I will get a nice 10 mile run done....Check!
Plans for the next few months:
March: Finish my 2nd half marathon. Finish the Campus on the Run 5K (this will be my 1 year anniversary for running....I think we need to party after the race)
April: Finish my leg of the 100K relay and be supportive of my team throughout the entire race.
May: Finish Bloomsday. I've done this race a bunch of times in the past, but this will be my first time finishing as a real runner :)
June: Finish my 3rd half marathon (I think I'm going to register for the one is St. Maries, ID again.
Thanks to my running buddy Chris O.....she keeps me going even when I want to stop! Thanks to Kerri for inspiring me with her own running and encouraging me with all of her fb posts and text messages :)
Thanks to Dan for being the best, supportive husband.....EVER!!
Thanks to all the friends who click "like" when I post things about my running....every little bit of support makes me smile :)
